Vineyard Notes

A carefully selected blend of quality sites from the Willamette Valley offers aromatic complexity and finesse. Crafted from thoughtfully chosen vineyards that highlight the diverse characteristics of Oregon, we blend individually fermented lots to craft a wine of beauty and grace.

Winemaker Notes

From our Reserve Pinot Noir program, the grapes were destemmed into small tanks, some with whole cluster inclusion, with a cold soak time between 3 and 5 days for extraction of color and flavor. The wine was allowed to warm to temperatures to promote yeast development and increase complexity; all of the lots were fermented with indigenous yeast. The wine underwent malolactic fermentation and spent 9 months in mixed French cooperage before being blended and bottled.

Vintage Notes

A classic, elegant Oregon vintage, the 2022 growing season began with a cool, wet spring. The vines emerged from dormancy in mid-April, when a few nights of frost had break caused concern about diminished yields, but vines generally rebounded well from the event, and a cool month of June pushed bloom out to the summer solstice, coinciding with a warming event that produced complete flowering and an excellent fruit set characterized by large cluster size. In July, August, and September the weather was warm and dry, and the vines had plenty of access to soil moisture from spring rains, allowing for rapid growth. Fair weather through late October allowed for additional hang time and flavor development.
