Vineyard Notes

Farmed with meticulous attention to detail in the Eola-Amity Hills, Crawford Beck Vineyard is a
LIVE certified sustainable grower whose vines consistently produce a classic expression of their
terroir. This vineyard’s elevation is 400 feet with Willakenzie and Yamhill soils and is Certified LIVE
and Salmon Safe. This Pinot Noir is sourced from the 115 clone on 3309 planted in 1999.

Winemaker Notes

Handpicked fruit was destemmed and carefully fermented in small lots. The wine was aged nine
months in mixed French cooperage (13% new, 13% Once-filled, 74% neutral).

Vintage Notes

2019 began with a warm, wet spring and bud break commenced on schedule in April. A cool
spell of weather in June around bloom naturally modulated fruit set, lowering yields. The late
spring and summer were warmer than average but lacked notable heat spikes, allowing for
steady vine growth and development during the growing season through véraison, which took
place in mid-August. A cooling trend starting in early September slowed ripening at the final
moments, allowing for additional hang time and flavor development while keeping the fruit in
perfect balance until harvest began in mid-September. The 2019 wines are marked by vibrant
fruit flavors, age-worthy structure, and food-friendly acidity.
