Tasting Notes

This dry Pinot Noir is an excellent assemblage of quality vineyards from around the Willamette Valley. Light-ruby in color, this wine offers moderate density and a onght pink color around the rim. Intense aromas of rasberry, blueberry, and black cherry mingle with hints of vanilla and fresh-baked pastry. Upon tasting, additional notes of plum and rose hips lead to hints of earth and fresh herbs. The moderate tannins and acid are sure to carry this wine far as it gains complexity with age. The mild, pleasant finish focuses on the fruit and florals.

Vineyard Notes

Winemaker Notes

The fruit was primarily destemmed to vineyard and block designated lots, with a small percentage of whole
cluster inclusion in some lots, to 1.5 ton fermenters. The mine was pumped over daily during cold soak The small
lots were fermented with ingenious yeast for an average of twelve days and pumped over or hand punched two times daiy. The wine was aged for nine months in mixed French
cooperage before blending.

Vintage Notes

The 2021 vintage began with a cool but dry spring, with bud break occurring right on schedule in April. After a fairly typical spring, bloom took place during an extended period in mixed weather in early June, leading to mixed fruit set. In late June, a record-breaking heat wave struck the West Coast, but the vines came through the heat in great shape and ripened evenly throughout the rest of a warm, dry summer. A cooling trend took place in early September, preserving fresh fruit flavors and natural acidity and allowing the harvest season for our vineyards to take place over a period of nearly two months. The fruit in 2021 was remarkable for its delicate flavors, perfect condition, and balanced acid and tannin profile: the young wines are compelling and easy to love.
