2016 Ransom Eola-Amity Hills Cattrall Vineyard Pinot Noir
- Description
Historic. Organic. Savory.
The 2016 Ransom Cattrall Vineyard Pinot Noir is a tribute to Oregon winemaking history. Sourced from the Cattrall Brothers Vineyard—the oldest certified organic vineyard in the state—these own-rooted vines have been farmed by the same family in the cool, high-elevation slopes of the Eola-Amity Hills since the 1970s.
This 2016 vintage is a "selection" of our favorite barrels, offering a profound sense of place. It opens with complex aromas of black cherry, pomegranate, and warm baking spice, underpinned by savory notes of tobacco leaf, forest floor, and a hint of woodsmoke. On the palate, the wine is elegant and acid-driven, with silky tannins and a lingering, umami-rich finish that speaks to the vineyard's mature root system.
A true "wine of terroir" that balances the ripe fruit of the 2016 vintage with the cool-climate tension of the Eola-Amity Hills.
Pairing Suggestions: Ideally suited for earthy dishes like wild mushroom risotto, roasted squab, or cedar-plank salmon with fresh herbs.
