Winemaker Notes

The fruit was 100% destemmed with a high percentage of whole berries to 1.5 and 5 ton fermenters. The wine was pumped over daily during a four day cold soak. The small lots were fermented for an average of twelve days, hand punched two times daily. The wine was aged for ten months in mixed French cooperage before blending.

Vintage Notes

2020 began with a cool, wet spring. Budbreak was tracking in a normal pattern, while rain during bloom caused yields to be lower than normal - focusing concentration of berry and flavor development. A cooler than normal July and August helped the fruit ripen steadily and we harvested these vineyards in early October. The 2020 wines are marked by concentrated flavors, richness, and intensity.
